Proyecto Cumbre
A team of venezuelan mountaineers with more than 15 years climbing and exploring the world.
The expeditions of Proyecto Cumbre [ Summit Project -in english- ] have been for many years at the forefront of Venezuelan mountaineering. Among the major achievements are numerous first national ascents to the main peaks of the world, including the climb to Everest, the highest mountain of the planet, in the year 2001. In the year 2004 PC made the first Venezuelan Expedition to the North Pole, and the first Venezuelan Expedition to the South Pole in 2006. We have completed the 7 summits project (Las Siete Cumbres), which consists of climbing the highest mountain on each continent. In 2008 PC made the first Latin American crossing of the Greenland ice cap from east to west.
Following the success at the top of the world and in the poles expeditions, we have dedicated ourselves to carry out a wide dissemination of our activity, providing positive values and motivation to the Venezuelans. In this context, we published the book “Camino a la Cumbre. Del Ávila al Everest” [Road to the Summit, From Avila to Everest] and we set up an exhibition at the La Estancia Art Center on this expedition. We have published several photographic calendars, and made several documentaries, including the feature film" Extremos ", presented in cinemas in Venezuela during November Of 2010.
In addition we have made a lot of presentations, recounting our experience and the way we have overcome obstacles and reached the challenges proposed. We have given numerous talks and workshops in companies, organizations and educational institutions nationwide.
With these and other initiatives, Proyecto Cumbre seeks to convey a message of optimism and motivation, so that each one reaches his own Everest ...
